XUANWU | Aged Agate Necklace

$150.00

The character of Xuanwu comes from the meeting of aged agate, tactile detail and a controlled center.

Product Details

  • Core material: Authentic aged banded agate in a dense 17 mm spherical focal stone with a naturally pitted, weathered surface.
  • Hardware & accents: Reddish-brown agate nodes and ornate 18K gold-plated brass ribbed spacers.
  • Binding: Artisan hand-woven cord engineered to support the focal piece.

The Wearing Experience

Aged Agate begins cool against the chest and gradually takes on body warmth. Its polish, pattern and cut remain visible at close range.

The strand is arranged to keep the aged agate near the center of the chest, where its pattern can be seen without crowding the neckline.

Xuanwu and the Design

Xuanwu is the northern emblem among the Four Symbols, conventionally represented by a tortoise entwined with a snake. It gathers ideas of winter, water, endurance, and guarded stillness.

For this piece, Xuanwu is a point of departure rather than a literal motif. The story of the northern tortoise-and-snake form associated with endurance becomes a study in rhythm, weight and contrast.

Care

For this aged agate necklace, avoid prolonged contact with water, perfume, lotions and household cleaners. Remove before showering, swimming or exercise, wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear and store separately to protect the stone and plated details.

Jewelry is experienced not only by sight. The weight of a bead, the cool surface of stone, and the warmth wood gathers from the skin are all part of the piece.

A Jambhala piece is designed to be worn often and touched naturally, keeping its symbol—and the meaning you chose—close at hand.

We choose natural materials for their character, not for perfect uniformity. Grain, color, pattern, and surface will vary from one piece to another.

With wear, wood may deepen in tone, metal finishes may soften, and surfaces may take on subtle traces of touch. These natural changes are part of living with the piece.

THE MEANING IS YOURS

Every Jambhala piece begins with a meaning drawn from an old story. You may choose it for that meaning, for a memory of your own, or simply because you want to wear it. With time and wear, the piece becomes personal.
