Sugilite is a distinctly modern gem material, prized for its rich violet-to-purple color and naturally varied mineral character.
Unlike stones valued primarily for perfect clarity, sugilite often carries visible variation through tone and pattern. The 6 mm discs used in BAI QIULIAN create a continuous field of purple while still allowing each section of material to remain slightly individual.
Jambhala chose sugilite for this bracelet because its strong color can hold a continuous visual line. The ornate filigree focal node changes that line without breaking it, while green and clear pavé details introduce smaller points of contrast.

Bai Qiulian’s story moves between love and the pull of home. She moves toward a life with Mu Changong, but her connection to the water she came from never disappears.
