The 11 mm seeds used in RANYI keep pronounced organic ridges and a substantial scale. Unlike a perfectly uniform stone bead, each seed carries small natural differences, and its surface becomes more personal through touch and wear.
Jambhala chose Bodhi seed for RANYI because its tactile, organic character suits a Being whose strange body combines several familiar forms. The shell charm and 18K gold-plated brass add contrast without overpowering the quieter material at the center of the bracelet.
From Story to Form
In the Shanhaijing, Ranyi is an unusual aquatic creature with a fish-like body, serpent head, six legs, and features compared with those of a horse. The same old account associates it with warding off misfortune.
