Daiwei and the Design

Daiwei is the name of a jade essence in fragments in a later-preserved fragment of an older illustrated tradition. It appears as a beautiful woman dressed in green or blue-green clothing.

Rather than illustrating Daiwei literally, the piece translates the idea of a jade spirit who appears as a woman in green into material contrast and a deliberate center of attention.
