How to Care for Wooden Bracelets: Water, Oil and Storage

A soft, dry cloth is a good starting point for a wooden bracelet. Wipe gently after wear, keep it away from soaking and strong heat, and let it dry before storage if it gets wet. Adding oil should depend on the finish and the maker’s instructions, rather than becoming an automatic routine.

Clean the surface without flooding the beads

Support the bracelet on a soft pad and wipe around each bead with a clean, lint-free cloth. Use light pressure and pay attention to the spaces beside spacers and focal details. Avoid pulling beads apart to reach the cord or pushing a sharp tool into a drill hole.

If residue remains sticky or the surface looks rough, check the care instructions before trying a wet cleaner. Unfinished wood can absorb water and swell; coatings may need different treatment. A stronger cleaner can create a larger mark than the one you wanted to remove.

What to do after rain or a splash

Take the bracelet off, blot it with a soft dry cloth and leave it at room temperature with air around it. Let the spaces between beads and any cord dry too. Do not speed things up with a hair dryer, radiator or hot windowsill, and do not shut a damp bracelet inside a box.

Keep the wood’s particular character in mind

Material What you are preserving Useful habit
Agarwood Its surface and existing fragrance Keep perfume and added fragrance oils off the beads
Sandalwood Fine grain and its own aroma Apply skincare first and let it dry before wearing
Huanghuali Visible grain and surface finish Avoid furniture polish and vigorous rubbing

If fragrance seems quieter, keep the bracelet away from competing scents and ask about its specific care needs. Adding perfume or heating the beads can alter the scent and surface you wanted to preserve.

Does a wooden bracelet need oil?

Some makers recommend a particular oil for a known finish; others use a finish that needs nothing added. Ask which applies to your piece. Cooking oil, essential oil and furniture products can leave residue or change the surface and scent. Until you have clear instructions, stay with the dry-cloth routine.

Look after the other components

FEIFEI combines 8.4 mm agarwood beads with a green faceted focal detail, 18K gold-plated brass and an elastic core. A cleaning method must suit all those parts together. Keep abrasive polishing cloths away from the plated finish, and check visible cord for fraying or uneven tension.

Remove wooden bracelets before bathing, swimming or activities that leave them wet with sweat. When dry, store each piece in a soft pouch or its own compartment, away from heat and repeated humidity swings. If a bead cracks or the cord loosens, pause wear and arrange an assessment before the next outing.
