YINGLONG | Petrified Pumtek & Agate Necklace

$70.00
Fit Universal Fit (Adjustable 14" - 20")
First order gift: a surprise bracelet or necklace.

There are moments when protecting something means no longer standing back.

Product Details

  • Core materials: Authentic petrified-wood Pumtek with traditional baked patterns, paired with contrasting banded agate beads.
  • Hardware: 18K gold-plated brass spacers.
  • Cord: Hand-knotted durable black tether designed to rest flat and heavy against the chest.

Materials of Distinction

Pumtek belongs to an old Myanmar bead tradition in which petrified wood was shaped and decorated with baked geometric patterns. Agate carries an even broader bead history stretching back thousands of years, valued for durability and naturally occurring bands and layers.

Placed together, the two materials create a strong contrast: Pumtek contributes graphic pattern and the visual character of fossilized wood, while banded agate brings mineral density and repeated natural lines.

Jambhala chose this combination for YINGLONG because the necklace needs a sense of direction as well as weight. Marked Pumtek, banded agate, 18K gold-plated spacers, and a dark hand-knotted cord create a piece that feels built around movement rather than a single static center.

From Story to Form

Yinglong is a winged dragon remembered in stories of battle, rain, and flood control. Across those stories, it tends to appear when a situation has already reached the point where action is required.

Jambhala translates that quality through directional structure rather than a literal dragon figure. Marked Pumtek and banded agate move along the dark cord in a sequence of points, turns, and contrasts across the chest.

The design keeps one idea from Yinglong close: there are moments when protection means stepping in and giving force a direction.

JEWELRY CARE

Keep your jewelry away from prolonged contact with water, perfume, lotions, sweat, and household cleaners. Remove it before showering, swimming, or exercise. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and store separately in a cool, dry place.

Natural stones, wood, amber, antler, and other natural materials may vary from piece to piece and can be sensitive to moisture, heat, strong sunlight, and impact. Avoid soaking, high temperatures, harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and hard knocks.

Jewelry is experienced not only by sight. The weight of a bead, the cool surface of stone, and the warmth wood gathers from the skin are all part of the piece.

A Jambhala piece is designed to be worn often and touched naturally, keeping its symbol—and the meaning you chose—close at hand.

We choose natural materials for their character, not for perfect uniformity. Grain, color, pattern, and surface will vary from one piece to another.

With wear, wood may deepen in tone, metal finishes may soften, and surfaces may take on subtle traces of touch. These natural changes are part of living with the piece.

THE MEANING IS YOURS

Every Jambhala piece begins with a meaning drawn from an old story. You may choose it for that meaning, for a memory of your own, or simply because you want to wear it. With time and wear, the piece becomes personal.
